Research Specialist 2 (Accelerator Radio Frequency Systems)
The Center for Advanced Microstructures and Devices (CAMD) at Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana invites applications for the position of Research Specialist 2.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a closely related subject OR four years of teaching/research/professional administrative level experience can substitute for the degree requirement; two years of experience in a high technology environment.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with accelerators or large experimental systems, but not essential since training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
Handles the operation, maintenance, calibration and development of Radio Frequency Systems ranging from low power to 100 kW which are used to supply beam power systems in the 1.3 GeV accelerator; maintains radio frequency based beam diagnostics in the accelerator; participates in the accelerator studies program at Center for Advanced Microstructures and Devices (CAMD) which aims to extend and improve the understanding of the electron beam dynamics throughout the accelerator system, and to use that knowledge to operate the accelerator systems at the highest achievable levels.
